That all changed when a few days later I read something about him being a "jerk". That actually served him well in business (according to that article). I was wondering how truth that statement was. I read again in Wikipedia that he eliminated all corporate philanthropy programs after taking control of Apple Inc in back 1997 (although Mr. Jobs also said he did all charitable acts privately). Later, I also read that when he had his out-of-wed daughter, he initially refused to recognize her claiming he was sterile. For two years, she had to live in welfare. I don’t want to make the point that he could be saved by works, but let’s admit it: He was not a very nice guy. The world has praised him like a hero for the things he did in business and technology, with all sorts of praises such as being called an innovator, entrepreneur, tech pioneer, etc, etc. President Obama, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, other CEOs and celebrities reacted to Steve Jobs' death with all sorts of upbeat comments and unparallel attention to his life accomplishments. However, how many journalists and blog writers have written about his whereabouts right now? Where is Steve Jobs now? Yes he worried a lot about his business and accumulated an amazing profit, but could he take it to the other life? I don’t think so. Did he ever worry about his spiritual life? I don’t think so (although I hope I’m wrong on this one).
I read earlier today in my Bible Study that Jesus said: "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself". If Steve was really interested in doing God’s will, he would have find out that the truth was not in the Buddhist religion, not even in Christianity, but in Jesus. This is so powerful. Steve lost his chance and now is probably too late (unless he repented in the last moment).
Like I said in another website, it’s too late to pray for Steve Jobs (and I feel bad for not doing it before when I was jealous of him for he represented everything I wanted to be in the past), but now let’s pray for Warren Buffett and Bill Gates so they won’t lose their opportunity. We should always pray for the poor, but we should also pray for the very rich, especially if the latter are spiritually poor. Yes Buffett and Gates are good men (they have given so much of their wealth to noble causes), and yet they are not good with themselves. They think about others but not about their ultimate future. They can’t buy a ticket to heaven, not matter how much they tried. Salvation is by grace not by works. Somebody needs to let them know that.
