Christianity 101: are Christians good people?
By Edgar on Feb 16, 2012 | 4087 viewsThere is the misconception that when someone is born again (aka becomes a Christian), that "this person" is somehow holy; and thus the shock when this person (priest, deacon, parishioner, or otherwise, "good christian") does something wrong (think: TV News, weeping and shame!).
For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. For he who said, “You shall not commit adultery,”also said, “You shall not murder.”If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker. (James 2:10-15) In other words, though you might not be a murderer, homosexual, adulterer, or what have you, you are a still a sinner. We all are and our churches need to reflect that. Picture a room full of broken people - unworthy - looking onto the Cross and believing in Jesus. For whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
