DanI recall hearing Ehrman on a radio interview where the host was trying to get him to go along with the "Jesus never existed" story. Even Ehrman wouldn't go there. I believe Ehrman said something along the lines of "no serious scholar would stipulate JC never existed."

Henry ImlerI'm with Dan. Not a single one that I know of or have heard of deny that there was a historical Jesus. If you find some, let me know so I can go and take their job!

EdgarMy bathroom reading room has me a copy of "The Historical Jesus" by Gary Habermas. there are like 5 historians there that Gary seems worth enough to argue with. I'll go back in there and get their names later. Some of them I think are dead now so are probably not relevant (ironic for a historian, no?)

But I would love to hear from other non-christian sources on this.

VinnyJHRichard Carrier and Robert M. Price are the most credible contemporary proponents of the Christ myth theory. Price has PhD's in New Testament and systematic theology. Carrier's PhD is in ancient history. You can find samples of their work at infidels.org.

Edgar@VinnyJH-- thanks for the info. Just recently found out that Price was Ben Witherington's classmate. One of the two didn't pay attention in class. -:)
