Kana YonemuraI really thought George Harrison was a christian. If he was then why he didn't say that he is praising "Jesus"? So in the end, was he a Christian or not? Or was he hailing Indian gods?

EdgarHi Kana,

No He wasn't. None of the Beatles are or were Christian from what we know about them.

wrtActually there are rumours and few sources that George converted to christianity before he died.
Maybe we will see true answer someday.

EdgarI heard rumors too. He was a very nice guy. I hope he did well and hope to see him in heaven. Just Jesus knows for certain.

CraigThe Beatles all seemed to get an attitude towards Christianity after the "We are more popular than Christ" comment during a tour to America. They played in sleezy bars in Europe before they made it big.

I believe Harrison knew the truth, but he sure as heck didn't live his life for Jesus Christ. This brings up a very serious debate called "once saved always saved".

EdgarI agree. I wonder how George will be portrayed on the new Oliver Stone movie coming on HBO later this year.

anaactually if you read this post, It really leans towards him converting http://drbobk.blogspot.com/2007/04/george-harrison-conversion-to.html

I have also heard that it was a Brazilian pastor who was able to convert George when he had cancer later in his life, just a few months before his death. This was because a friend of George's who is a brazilian formula 1 race car driver (i forgot his name) knew this pastor and set up the encounter. I hope he really did stay a Christian, I hope he is in Heaven. But imagine this, If it was possible for George, the Beatle who was most involved with hinduism to convert, there could be an easier chance for Paul McCartney to convert. I pray that he does while there is still time.

elijahGeorge Harrison did indeed die a christian which is a huge relief for me. Bob Spitz had wrote the The Beatles Bio and on page 567 it said that George had converted to christianity before his death. Bob Spitz had found this out by talking to George Harrison months before his death but could not use him as a source because of something with the Harrison Estates. But he died a christian which is the only thing that matters. Thank you Lord.

DreynoldsI agree with *elijah* I recently read the same article that had to do with George Harrison's religion. I also read an article entitled, "Why I've turned to God at 70, by reformed Ringo Starr... that's 44 years after Lennon said the Beatles were bigger than Jesus!" Go to this link and it mentions his converting to Christianity!

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1248085/Why-Ive-turned-God-70-reformed-Ringo-Starr.html

As for Paul McCartney it clearly states his religion in an underrated album called, "Chaos and Creation in the Backyard." Which I own currently. One song in paticular is, "Follow Me!"

The song's message basically has to do with more people to follow Christ.

As for John Lennon I read extremely grand articles that had to do with his religion and one really inspired me. I do not remember the link, but it is located on www.cbn.com

That is all I have to mention about the Beatles religion!!!

EdgarThanks for the update. It looks like Ringo might have become religious but not a Christian? i didn't see any claims to that.

I also read that Bob Dylan reverted to Judaism? That's interesting too. I never heard that before.

Thanks for sharing.
