About The Christian Alert
By E. I. Sanchez on May 7, 2005 | 6346 views | 16 feedbacks »TheChristianAlert.org is a news and opinion blog. We blog about books we're reading, TV shows, radio programs, the media, and events relating to our walk with Christ.
Dan and E. I. are followers of Jesus of Nazareth. We hold to the authority of the Scriptures and the historical Jesus. Our motto is:
Glory to God in the highest. Peace to his people on earth.
Site History: We got the idea for this site during dinner at Red Lobster somewhere between the cheddar bay biscuits and shrimp and lobster pasta (back when it still had the red sauce and tasted good). We realized we had similar questions about Christianity, and we were both beginning to realize the world of apologetics and Christian culture. Both of us had gone to church for years without being given more than a superficial understanding of our faith. We established this website for people like us — Christians - who really want to know the Truth. We are always looking for ways to improve things, so if you have any ideas contact us.

There?s this book, actually, a workbook that has become close to my heart early in my Christian faith that has helped me have an intimate, loving and personal relationship with God and has helped me be more sensitive to what God is doing in my life. It?s called ?Experiencing God Workbook? by Henry T. Blackaby and Claude V. King. Here?s a link to it if you want to check it out

Another book worth checking out is a book called ?The Purpose Driven Life?
by Rick Warren. You can read the first seven chapter of the book here

One of my favorite bible teacher is Pastor Jon Courson. I listen to him on our local radio station but you can also check his teachings out on line at

Last, but not least http://www.klove.com/ if you like to listen to positive and encouraging music which I like to do at work on my lap top.
Keep your passion for Jesus.
Love in Christ,
Tita Tess
Thanks for the comments. Dan actually read The Purpose Driven Life. We should ask him how he liked it...
Thanks also for your comment on my blog :)
Yes - we definitely try to stay current on non-Christian news and books. I actually really enjoy watching Richard Dawkins on youtube. He's very articulate and brings up good questions.

Mike McIntosh who came from Chuck Smith's Calvary Chapel, Costa Mesa,Ca. as did Pastor John Curson is the pastor of Horizon Church, San Diego,Ca. With all three of these pastors you will find the Word of God taught book by book. There are other special teachings as well. They believe in the Baptism of and in the Holy Spirit, but are in no way part of some of the questionable Charismatic or Pentecostal movements.
Hi Lynnette,
Thanks for your comment and recommendation. http://horizonsd.org/ looks like a good resource. I'll keep it bookmarked to come back to it from time to time. God bless you.
Edgar. Would you like to exchange link?
Blessing, David
If Christians were more open to a cosmic christ as opposed to a very narrow fundamentalist one, they would begin to see and respect the connection between all life forms - human and animal. When you next bite into your Red Lobster or steak, just remember that a living sentient creature died in a horribly cruel way for no good reason. Meat is murder. That's why you should be saying "Yes" to PETA and others like them.
Best regards,
Glyn
Thanks for the note.
If you had a billion dollars, and you were about to die, and wanted to give the money away. Would you rather use that money to feed babies in Africa or save some animals in a farm or pets in some apartment?
What would be the greater good? animals or babies?
Since Christ ate formerly living creatures, what, if any, sin did He commit?
The critics always ask the wrong questions and make statements they know nothing about and isn't that why Jesus spoke in parables?
Mt. 13:13-15
Thanks for the donation to help raise money for MS! I didn't know you two were so passionate about these subjects. I love it! Growing up, I was like many people, just given the basic and somewhat superficial (as you so well put it) knowledge of what God and religion were and how we should represent it. Through my life experiences, I have found my own meanings to what God and religion are, and I have faith in that.
You guys have started a wonderful thing! Great job and keep it up!
BTW, I'm still reading Dante... Haha!
Excellent & thanks for visiting. If you make it pass the Inferno bit, you'd be well served.
I think Edgar and I would both argue that one's life experiences do not determine who or what God is, particularly since everyone has different experiences. God can't be a bunch of different things to a bunch of different people, or He ceases to be anything at all. God is as He has revealed Himself.
The questions we (try) to answer are how has He revealed Himself, and what has He revealed?
Nice to hear from you.
Dan
God can't be a bunch of different things to a bunch of different people,That is exactly what He/She/They is/are though Dan. Otherwise there would only be ONE Religion. There isn't even ONE type of Christianity and if you watch the debates between Hitchens, Harris, Dawkins et al and the many religious people thay talk with you will see that not one of them has the same opinion on what God is.
or He ceases to be anything at allMy point exactly ;-)
