Wanted: Stephen C. Meyer vs. Jerry A. Coyne Debate
November 19th, 2009 by E. I. Sanchez || 2 comments »I've been listening to Jerry Coyne's Why Evolution is True and it's really an interesting little book.
I would totally love to have Prof. Coyne debate Stephen C. Meyer (from the Discovery Institute) and hear what Meyer has to say about Coyne's observations on evolutionary theory.

60 Minutes distastefully disdains Noah's Story
November 15th, 2009 by E. I. Sanchez || 5 comments »While waiting for the Amazing Race (the wife is a big fan), I caught 60 Minutes': Iraq's Marshlands: Resurrecting Eden.

The story started with great shots of the valley between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers and the marshlands that beautifully decorate the landscape.
The story continued and CBS dazzled me with more HD video and I listened carefully as I was re-fed the urban legend that the Tigris and Euphrates valley was the cradle of civilization where agriculture, the alphabet and the wheel were invented. Yeah, yeah, yeah...

Apologetic Values for Probable, Possible, Likely
October 24th, 2009 by E. I. Sanchez || 10 comments »I have a lesson on John 8 (Woman Caught in Adultery) coming up and I'd like to discuss the meaning of Probable, Possible, Likely in respects to:
Does the story belong in the bible? Since it is not in the earliest manuscripts, does it mean - it is not authentic?
What are some examples that illustrate what probable, possible and likely mean?
Could a sun storm kill us all tomorrow? It's probable but not likely. But it's possible.
Could a wild monkey learn Chinese in two weeks? That's impossible! Or is it? (scary hahaha!)
Anyway, if you have more examples, let me know.
Learn NT Greek -- Best Resources
October 19th, 2009 by E. I. Sanchez || 3 comments »I guess I'm selfish. But apparently brain researchers are saying that learning a new language helps your brain stay healthy.
So I said to myself: learn some NT Greek -- which I have been saying to myself for a long time -- but this time -- I sort of want to move forward.
Does anybody know of some good resources (self-study) video, audio or text book for learning New Testament Greek?
Does anybody have experience with online schools they would recommend?
