Long Story Short: 10 Minute Devotions
By Edgar on Jan 1, 2011 | 2470 viewsToday marks the beginning of our family devotion time. A local church gave us a copy of Long Story Short: Ten-Minute Devotions to Draw Your Family to God and I'm taking no prisoners.
We're starting with volume one: The Old Testament (Volume two covers the New Testament - whole Bible devotional takes like 2+ years to complete).
We had our first family get together today after dinner and we can't wait til tomorrow.
After the devotional, we then run through the kids catechism. If you're going through this book or a similar devotional, leave me a comment.

We have devotions as well, but just follow a one-year NT plan, reading a chapter per day, excluding Lord's Days. We'll also memorize the Heidelberg Catechism in three years, Lord willing.

I purposely didn't reply to see how this week would go.
it's a challenge for sure. the oldest kid loves it while the younger space in and out. the younger kids will just have to learn to discipline themselves and take it seriously. hope they will see how the oldest behaves and want to follow the path.
other than that, this has given us a family time to come together, share stories, and pray together which we weren't doing much before.
